Key of Solomon · Figure 17
The Seventh Pentacle of Saturn
Saturn ♄︎ · Saturday · Lead · Black
What it is for
To raise earthquakes, by the power of the nine orders of angels.
Its virtue
This Pentacle is fit for exciting earthquakes, seeing that the power of each order of Angels herein invoked is sufficient to make the whole Universe tremble.
The Key of Solomon the King, Mathers (1889), Figure 17, the last of Saturn. Public domain.
What is written on it
The names of the nine orders of angels, from the Chaioth ha-Qadesh (Holy Living Creatures) to the Kerubim, six in ordinary Hebrew and three in the 'Passing of the River' letters.
The versicle
“Then the earth shook and trembled, the foundations of the hills also moved and were shaken, because He was wroth.”
Psalm 18:7
How it is made
- Engrave it in lead on a Saturday, in an hour of Saturn. Made in the planet's metal, it needs no particular colour.
- Or draw it on virgin paper or parchment, exorcised first, in black, the colour of Saturn.
- The material must be new and never used for anything else. Metal is first purified by fire.
- The size is up to you, as long as it is made by the rules. Burn the incense while you work, and be pure in body and mind.
