Key of Solomon · Figure 11
The First Pentacle of Saturn
Saturn ♄︎ · Saturday · Lead · Black
What it is for
Makes spirits submit: shown to them, they kneel and obey.
Its virtue
This Pentacle is of great value and utility for striking terror into the Spirits. Wherefore, upon its being shown to them they submit, and kneeling upon the earth before it, they obey.
The Key of Solomon the King, Mathers (1889), Figure 11. Public domain.
What is written on it
A square holding the four great four-letter Names of God: IHVH, ADNI (Adonai), IIAI (Yiai) and AHIH (Eheieh).
The versicle
“The Ethiopians shall kneel before Him, His enemies shall lick the dust.”
Psalm 72:9
How it is made
- Engrave it in lead on a Saturday, in an hour of Saturn. Made in the planet's metal, it needs no particular colour.
- Or draw it on virgin paper or parchment, exorcised first, in black, the colour of Saturn.
- The material must be new and never used for anything else. Metal is first purified by fire.
- The size is up to you, as long as it is made by the rules. Burn the incense while you work, and be pure in body and mind.
