Key of Solomon · Figure 14
The Fourth Pentacle of Saturn
Saturn ♄︎ · Saturday · Lead · Black
What it is for
For works of ruin and destruction, and for calling spirits that bring news from the South.
Its virtue
This Pentacle serveth principally for executing all the experiments and operations of ruin, destruction, and death. And when it is made in full perfection, it serveth also for those Spirits which bring news, when thou invokest them from the side of the South.
The Key of Solomon the King, Mathers (1889), Figure 14. Public domain.
What is written on it
A triangle whose sides carry the Shema of Deuteronomy 6:4, with the mystic letter Yod at the centre.
The versicle
“As he clothed himself with cursing like as with a garment, so let it come into his bowels like water, and like oil into his bones.”
Psalm 109:18
How it is made
- Engrave it in lead on a Saturday, in an hour of Saturn. Made in the planet's metal, it needs no particular colour.
- Or draw it on virgin paper or parchment, exorcised first, in black, the colour of Saturn.
- The material must be new and never used for anything else. Metal is first purified by fire.
- The size is up to you, as long as it is made by the rules. Burn the incense while you work, and be pure in body and mind.
