Key of Solomon · Figure 54
The Sixth Pentacle of the Moon
Moon ☽︎ · Monday · Silver · Silver
What it is for
Brings heavy rain for as long as it lies under water.
Its virtue
This is wonderfully good, and serveth excellently to excite and cause heavy rains, if it be engraved upon a plate of silver; and if it be placed under water, as long as it remaineth there, there will be rain. It should be engraved, drawn, or written in the day and hour of the Moon.
The Key of Solomon the King, Mathers (1889), Figure 54, the last of the Moon. Public domain.
What is written on it
The mystical characters of the Moon on an eight-rayed wheel.
The versicle
“All the fountains of the great deep were broken up . . . and the rain was upon the earth.”
Genesis 7:11–12
How it is made
- Engrave it in silver on a Monday, in an hour of the Moon. Made in the planet's metal, it needs no particular colour.
- Or draw it on virgin paper or parchment, exorcised first, in silver, the colour of the Moon.
- The material must be new and never used for anything else. Metal is first purified by fire.
- The size is up to you, as long as it is made by the rules. Burn the incense while you work, and be pure in body and mind.
