The Seventh Pentacle of Mars

Mars ♂︎ · Tuesday · Iron · Red

What it is for

Raises hail and storms when uncovered in the circle.

Its virtue

The Key of Solomon the King, Mathers (1889), Figure 31, the last of Mars. Public domain.

What is written on it

A seven-pointed star with the divine Names El and Yiai at the centre, and spirits' names in Hebrew and in the Celestial alphabet.

The versicle

“He gave them hail for rain, and flaming fire in their land. He smote their vines also, and their fig-trees.”

Psalm 105:32–33

How it is made

  • Engrave it in iron on a Tuesday, in an hour of Mars. Made in the planet's metal, it needs no particular colour.
  • Or draw it on virgin paper or parchment, exorcised first, in red, the colour of Mars.
  • The material must be new and never used for anything else. Metal is first purified by fire.
  • The size is up to you, as long as it is made by the rules. Burn the incense while you work, and be pure in body and mind.
