The First Pentacle of Mercury
Mercury ☿︎ · Wednesday · Mixed metal · Mixed colours
What it is for
Calls the spirits who dwell under the firmament.
Its virtue
It serveth to invoke the Spirits who are under the Firmament.
The Key of Solomon the King, Mathers (1889), Figure 44. Public domain.
What is written on it
A pentagram whose letters form the names of the spirits Yekahel and Agiel.
How it is made
- Engrave it in mixed metal on a Wednesday, in an hour of Mercury. Made in the planet's metal, it needs no particular colour.
- Or draw it on virgin paper or parchment, exorcised first, in mixed colours, the colour of Mercury.
- The material must be new and never used for anything else. Metal is first purified by fire.
- The size is up to you, as long as it is made by the rules. Burn the incense while you work, and be pure in body and mind.
