Key of Solomon · Figure 42

The Fourth Pentacle of Venus

Venus ♀︎ · Friday · Copper · Green

What it is for

Compels the spirits of Venus, and draws the person you want to you at once.

Its virtue

It is of great power, since it compels the Spirits of Venus to obey, and to force on the instant any person thou wishest to come unto thee.

The Key of Solomon the King, Mathers (1889), Figure 42. Public domain.

What is written on it

A square set in a circle, with IHVH at the four angles and the names of spirits of Venus.

The versicle

“This is bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh. And they two were one flesh.”

Genesis 2:23–24

How it is made

  • Engrave it in copper on a Friday, in an hour of Venus. Made in the planet's metal, it needs no particular colour.
  • Or draw it on virgin paper or parchment, exorcised first, in green, the colour of Venus.
  • The material must be new and never used for anything else. Metal is first purified by fire.
  • The size is up to you, as long as it is made by the rules. Burn the incense while you work, and be pure in body and mind.
